Bring your sense of adventure for an exhilarating ride to the World Heritage Listed Great Barrier Reef to snorkel the gorgeous Upolu Reef. Maximum of 26 guests!
Meet your crew 30 mins prior to departure at our office in The Pier Shopping Centre for check in then you will be led down to Cairns Marlin Marina where you will board our fast vessel ‘Mad Max’ and take an exhilarating trip to Upolu Reef. You will have a wonderful 2 hours exploring the reef with our snorkel guide before heading back to Cairns.
Don’t worry about getting hungry because water and snacks are provided on board.

Reef Adventure is our favourite half day snorkelling trip due to its multiple availabilities in the day as well as being a fast boat! It takes 50 minutes to get to the reef sight giving customers over 2 and a half hours of snorkelling.
Absolutely, regardless of whether you’re stuck for time or if you don’t want to spend all day on the water, Reef adventures offers a fantastic fully guided snorkelling experience and will take pictures for the guests for free and publish it on their facebook page.
Due to the guided nature of the half day snorkel you won’t be stuck for finding wildlife and thriving coral. The staff aboard know exactly what people want to see and will take you to some fantastic soft coral sights with vibrant colours as well as swim near where turtles and rare fish tend to live, increasing you chances of spotting some interesting wildlife.
The half day snorkeling will take approximately 4 hours. There are multiple daily options, whether you want to start your day early and go 8am – 12pm, have a lie in and still want to get back for dinner with the, 10am – 2pm or if you want to finish your day with a snorkel with the, 1pm – 5pm trip.
With the half day snorkelling, included is return boat transfers from Cairns, visits to healthy snorkelling sites on the Great Barrier Reef, snorkelling equipment (mask, snorkel, fins), flotation devices, a wetsuit or lycra suit (seasonal), and guidance from experienced crew. Some trips also include light refreshments.
Similar to a full day trip, it is recommended to bring your swimming clothes, a towel, some water to drink (though water is provided on board), reef safe suncreen as the UVs tend to be high out on the reef. Importantly you should bring a positive attitude to bounce off the friendly staff aboard.
Absolutely, many customers tend to bring their own go pro or water proof camera on board when they do a reef trip so they can relive their own experiences afterwards. The benefit of going on this half day trip means that the staff will be taking pictures and videos free for the customers, accessible via facebook a day or two after the trip.
