The Great Barrier Reef Tour with Ocean Safari is a half-day tour, typically lasting around 6 hours, including transfers from Cape Tribulation accomodation.
Ocean Safari departs from Turtle Rock Cafe, Cape Tribulation Beach (the main street of Cape Tribulation). This is where you will sign waivers, get snorkelling equipment and leave your important luggage that you do not want to take with you. Pick up is included from Cape Tribulation accomodation.
It depends where from. If travelling from Cairns or Port Douglas, then best way is to rent a car for a few days and drive yourself. The reason for this as there are no public buses that go upto Cape Trib. You could however organise a driver to also take you there, this would work best for bigger groups to split the cost.
The Great Barrier Reef Tour with Ocean Safari goes to two different reef sites at Mackay Reef. One destination is a sand cay, which is a great snorkel spot, but can also relax on the beach when not snorkelling!
Yes, the Great Barrier Reef Tour with Ocean Safari is great for families, but depends on your group. For example, elderly, injured or prengant people are not advised to do this tour, as it can be bumpy ride. Children must also be minimum 6 months old to travel.
We recommend comfortable swim gear, towel, sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses, a reusable water bottle, and a camera.
No, food is not included in the tour. Either bring your own or enjoy some food at the Turtle Rock Cafe before or after tour.
The Great Barrier Reef Tour with Ocean Safari is one of the shortest trips to the entire Great Barrier Reef. It only takes around 25 minutes to get to the first snorkel spot!
EXCELLENT Based on 422 reviews Posted on Anousack ThepphommaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I wasn’t sure what to do in Cairns, so I visited their office. Eleanor at the counter was very helpful and gave me great advice on which tours suited me. I booked two tours—Kuranda went smoothly and I had an amazing time. The Fitzroy Island tour was cancelled due to technical issues, but Kirk (who seemed like a manager) called me, resolved everything quickly, and arranged a similar tour for me instead. Overall, I had a great experience and really enjoyed my time in Cairns. If you’re visiting, definitely stop by their office—you won’t regret it.Posted on Sven RudolphTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We were fortunate enough to be advised by Bailey. He helped us choose the best day in terms of weather and calmly described and recommended various snorkelling tours to us. The tour we ended up booking was fantastic, as was the weather. For this reason, we were very happy with the advice and would definitely come back again.Posted on G EATrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great Service, handsome ladPosted on Shannon El HanbliTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My family and I were visiting Cairns for a week only and wanted to have a memorable visit of the Great Barrier Reef. We were welcomed by Eleonore Fabre - she gave us outstanding service. She recommended the Moore Reef plan and we could not have had a better day. My kids (and I 🤭) loved the slide that led right into the ocean off the pontoon. Would highly recommend to stop by and see Éléonore at the Cairns branch!Posted on Mack BurgessTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
