Hobbiton Movie Set is only accessible via a guided tour experience.
A tour of Hobbiton Movie Set comprises of:
– A short bus ride from your departure location to the movie set
– A 1.5 hour guided walking tour including time inside the interior of Bagshot Row
– A 20 minute visit to The Green Dragon Inn including a complimentary beverage
– At the end of your experience, you will walk with your guide back to the bus and take another short bus ride to your departure location
This tours run on small group tour only, typically no more than 12-16 guest
That means easier movement around the set , and better opportunities with less croud
Their buses are designed without seat belts as they are not required by law on buses in New Zealand. As such, you will not be able to install an infant capsule, booster or car seat on the bus as there is no secure way to fasten them. The maximum speed limit on this private road is 30kph (18.5 mph), and all vehicles travelling to the movie set are authorised and aware of the speed limit and road conditions. We recommend that infants and small children sit on your lap or in a front pack carrier/sling during the bus ride
