What is Reef Adventures?
Reef Adventures is a family run business that offers breathtaking Great Barrier Reef tours, running for over 10 years in Cairns & Mission Beach.
Reef Adventures offers a variety of Great Barrier Reef tours, such as half day trips, full day trips, private charters for that more exclusive experience and a fly & raft package (half day snorkel and scenic flight over GBR).
How to Find the Reef Adventures Shop?
Reef Adventures is located at the Pier Shopping Centre, next to the Cairns Marlin Marina and check in will be 30 minutes before scheduled departure time.
However, it can sometimes be a little tricky locating the shop. As the majority of tours leave from Cairns Marlin Marina, some people end up trying to check in down at the marina. On top of that, the Piers Shopping Centre is a large venue, so we find people going inside the Shangri-La reception to ask for directions.
If you follow these simple steps, you will find their shop in no time!
The Reef Adventures shop is located on the ground floor, inside the Pier Shopping Centre Plaza as seen above.
There are many different entrances to get to the Reef Adventures shop. Loads of travellers get confused and end up in the Shangri-La hotel, if you find yourself in the hotel and you’re lost, walk through these doors here!
Walk through these doors and keep walking straight until you come into the big shopping plaza, and you will see the purple and yellow signage for “Reef Adventures” as seen in the pictures above.
There are a few other ways to find the Reef Adventures shop. For example, there are a few entrances from the Marina side, with steps walking up to the Pier Shopping Centre. There is an entrance on each side of the Pier Shopping Centre, most of them look like this:
After your amazing day on the reef, you should try the restaurants on the marina side of the Pier Shopping Centre. They have a great variety like seafood, Italians, Mediterranean, and much more.
With the best views for lunch or dinner on, looking over the Marina whilst people are setting off on the adventure of a lifetime to the Great Barrier Reef, it’s a spot not too miss!
What Tours Does Reef Adventures Offer?
All tours with Reef Adventures have a maximum of 26 guests, a snorkel guide for the entire day, bluetooth music, an energetic crew, toilet facilities, all snorkel gear and tuition.
Reef Adventures offers a variety of Great Barrier Reef tours, here’s a breakdown:
Choose between 3 times slots (subject to availability) 8:00am till 12:00pm, 10:00am till 2:00pm or 1:00pm till 5:00pm. These 4 hour tours are an awesome way to see the reef if you’re on a time schedule, don’t want a long boat ride, and if you want to only snorkel for 1-2 hours.
- Full Day Great Barrier Reef Tour
A newly released full day tour with Reef Adventures, taking you to two 2 different reef sites in the Great Barrier Reef. The boat will only take 45 minutes to get to the first reef site where it’ll take you to snorkel at Upolo Cay! After that they will take you another short 15 minute journey to Breaking Patches, another beautiful coral reef site. This trip will include lunch.
- Full Day Great Barrier Reef Tour
A newly released full day tour with Reef Adventures, taking you to two 2 different reef sites in the Great Barrier Reef. The boat will only take 45 minutes to get to the first reef site where it’ll take you to snorkel at Upolo Cay! After that they will take you another short 15 minute journey to Breaking Patches, another beautiful coral reef site. This trip will include lunch.
- Snorkel & Fly at the Great Barrier Reef
This is one of the newest tours you can do in Cairns! With it being a jam packed day of flying and snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reef in one day, the trip also includes transfers too.
You can choose how you’d like to start your day. The 8:00am Snorkel/Fly option kicks off on the water, as Reef Adventures speeds you across the Coral Sea on one of our custom high-powered vessels. After your snorkelling adventure, you’ll transfer to the airport for an unforgettable 40-minute scenic flight over the Great Barrier Reef.
If you’d rather take to the skies first, the 11:00am Fly/Snorkel option begins with a spectacular aerial view of the reef before returning to Cairns to board Reef Adventures’ fast vessel for your snorkelling experience. Finishing around 5:00pm!
