I was born and raised in Blackpool, before moving to West Yorkshire to study Psychology. There I met my best friend and the travel bug began travelling around Europe, Thailand and wherever the cheapest travel tickets were to. I then found myself working in marketing with Guide Dogs UK for 4 years. However, I was always yearning for something more. I was sick of the 9-5 lifestyle, I felt like there was something missing from my life, that I needed to explore somewhere new. Australia had always called out to me and my partner, so we decided to take the leap. We quit our jobs, sold all our furniture to our house and set sail around South East Asia, East Coast Australia and New Zealand, before settling here in Cairns.
You have got everything you could possibly dream of wrapped up in a magical country. Beaches, rainforests, cities and deserts. And each of these natural wonders are just breathtakingly beautiful, there is not a place in Australia that will disappoint you. Australia just sucks you in and makes you never want to stop exploring.Â
Magnetic Island. Beautiful beaches, magical sunsets and fresh seafood. Most importantly you get to see so many sleepy koalas out in the wilderness, who will just melt your heart.
Make sure to live in the moment, before you know it those moments become special memories that you want to live over and over again. Take every opportunity and experience that you can, as you never know if you’ll get to have those opportunities again.
It was my birthday and we decided to camp at Wilson’s Prom in Melbourne. We were watching the sunset on the beach and as we came back we saw a wombat trying to get into everyone’s tent searching for food. I was so desperate to see a wombat out in the wild, my Instagram feed is filled with rescued orphaned wombats – I am that obsessed with them. It felt like the perfect birthday present from Mother Nature.
Adventure and wildlife lover. I love exploring new places and will be the person dragging you out of bed to go on a hike and spot the local animals out in the wild.Â
