The Great Adventure’s pontoon is located at Moore reef which will take approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes from Main land cairns. The luxury ferry has all the necessary facilities to have a comfortable trip to the pontoon.

Yes. Scuba diving is available as an optional extra. Great Adventures offers guided dives, including both introductory dives for beginners and dives for certified divers with full instruction and equipment.

Both are made with the same function however the key difference between a semi submersible and a glass bottom boat is where you look out of. In a glass bottom boat, as the name suggests there is a see through bottom so that guests can look at the reef and marine life from underneath. Whereas in the semi submersible, guests are sat just below the water level and the walls are see through giving you the opportunity to see the reef from a different level!

Yes! None swimmers can still enjoy the reef via underwater observatory views, semi submersible tours, sun deck lounging and reef presentations without entering the water. Buoyancy vests are also provided for those who choose to snorkel.

Yes, the pontoon is suitable for families, couples, solo travellers, children, and anyone young and old. It offers activities for all ages, including non-swimming options and easy water access from the pontoon platform. If you want to experience the Great Barrier Reef with a range of activities this tour suits everyone.!

Bring swimwear, a towel, reef safe sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and comfortable footwear. A light jacket is recommended for the boat ride, along with cash or a card for optional extras such as scuba diving, Seawalker, drinks, or souvenirs.

The Great Adventures Pontoon tour includes a return catamaran cruise from Cairns, morning tea and coffee, approximately three hours at the pontoon, a hot and cold buffet lunch, full snorkelling equipment (mask, snorkel, fins and flotation vests), access to the underwater observatory, semi submersible coral viewing tours, and informative reef presentations by marine staff.
