FAQs About Rottnest Island Skydive

When falling from 10,000 ft, the inital free fall builds speeds upwards of 200km per hour. That’s as afast as a high speed train! After the paracute is pulled the speed reduces massively and it you continue with a peaceful descent until you land on the ground.

On average the whole process of a skydive will take 3 hours. This includes the training time, driving to the plane, the ascent to 10,000 ft. The Sky dive it self which is a free fall at 200km/h for a minute and then a 15-20 minute descent to the ground again. You are then taken back to the skydive centre.

We recommend wearing comfortable clothes that aren’t loose as well as removing all jewelry and ensuring you are wearing closed toe shoes. At the skydive centre there are lockers for you to put your personal items such as phones wallet and anything else you wish to be stored safely until you return to land.

If you have a weak prescription it is recommended that you should take your glasses off to remove the risk of losing them during your skydive. However if you do chose to wear your glasses for your skydive, there are transparent eye covers that can be fitted around your head and glasses that will reduce the chance of them falling off. Most likely you will be asked by staff if you want this protection

If it is an item on your bucket list to do a skydive then we highly recommend opting into recieving the pictures and videos of your skydive. This way you can replay your reaction of the fall over and over and prove to everyone you know that you are brave enough to do the skydive!

The minimum age for a tandem skydive in Australia is 16 years old. Anyone under the age of 18 years old who is taking part in a skydive needs to have proof of permission from a parent or guardian.

No you are generally not allowed to sky dive 12-24 hours after your scuba diving for your own safety and will be denied to jump due to the pressure difference

Generally the time of day doesn’t matter too much for a skydive. However a popular time to skydive is just before the sun rises, this time slot is often sold out days if not a week prior to the jump so if you want to enquire let us know as soon as possible!
